In view of our regional capabilities, we operate as a one-stop provider of legal services.

When we act in cross-border transactions, we tap the expertise of the most appropriate solicitor, counsel or attorney based in the relevant jurisdiction selected from our comprehensive network of correspondent law firms. No stone is left unturned in our daily search for the best legal solution in meeting the special needs of each client.

We have been advising Taiwanese clients on their investments in Singapore since the firm commenced practice in 1985. Mr Loo Choon Chiaw, our Managing Partner, has been retained as the General Counsel of the Taipei Representative Office and the Taipei Business Association respectively since 1992.

In the historic ‘Koo-Wang Talks’ between the Representatives from China (PRC) and Taiwan
(ROC)held during 27 – 28 April 1993 in Singapore, Mr Loo was retained as the Singapore Legal Counsel. Mr Loo was extensively consulted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan (ROC) on
the ‘Look-South’ policy concerning the legal issues in relation to the overseas investments of Taiwanese enterprises in the region, including the feasibility and merits of Taiwanese enterprises venturing into China (PRC) via and through a Singapore subsidiary. In recognition of his contributions, Mr Loo was specifically named in the Ministry’s published Whitepaper entitled ‘Look-South Policy (Investments)’ dated 11 January 1994.

Since the early 90s, we have been advising both Singapore companies (listed and unlisted) on their PRC transactions and the PRC enterprises on their Singapore projects, and proposed Singapore listing plans and M&A Transactions in the region. We have acted for a great number of PRC entities in their Singapore listings. With the strong investor interest seen in the recent IPOs of PRC entities, we have further enhanced our capabilities and resources specifically to serve the PRC listing aspirants.
